Departure station of the "Lézard Rouge", small train of the "Beys" dating back to the begining of the century, METLAOUI is virtually the only access point in order to discover the famous SELJA necks as well its awesome canyons. METLAOUI is located at some 40 mn from Tozeur. The "Lézard Rouge" a train influenced by colonial spirit, has six coaches, one of which is Bey carriage and another used as a bar. The train follows the mines railways, along side the river bed and offering swelling silt. There is no other way to lead a such heavenly sites. These infinite walls leading to the heart of the superb canyons, have enticed more than a movie-maker (Franco Zefirelli, Yves Boisset, Harisson Ford...). An out-of-time journey within a gemine Far-West setting that you will certainly memorise as a lifetime experience. |
